A lot of what gets sold as insulation in this metro is sold off a script, priced off a square-foot number and installed without anyone sealing the ceiling plane first. Blown fibre over a leaky ceiling looks like a finished job from the hatch and performs like half of one. We measure what is there before quoting, seal before we insulate, and mark the finished depth on a ruler you can see from the ladder.
If your attic is already at depth, we will say so. If the real problem is a duct in an unconditioned attic or a bathroom fan venting into it, we will tell you that instead of selling you fibre. If there is vermiculite up there, we will tell you to leave it alone and why.
